About Chris Ofili
Chris Ofili is a British artist, born in Manchester in 1968, who won the Turner Prize in 1998. He became known for vibrant, richly layered paintings incorporating glitter, collage and elephant dung, drawing on Black culture, music, religion and myth, and has since created luminous works inspired by the landscapes of Trinidad, where he lives.
