matthew leifheit

Matthew Leifheit (born 1988) is a Brooklyn-based photographer, editor and teacher whose work focuses on the human figure and the places people live, from Fire Island to Key West. He founded MATTE magazine in 2010 as an independent platform for photography and teaches at the Yale School of Art. His monograph To Die Alive (Damiani, 2022) explores the queer history and nightlife of Fire Island, and MATTE Issue 60 is his portrait of the internet personality Brady Good.
