Ashley Bickerton (1959–2022) was a Barbados-born artist who emerged in New York's East Village in the 1980s as part of the Neo-Geo movement, making wall-mounted works emblazoned with corporate logos. He later settled in Bali, where he created lurid, satirical paintings and sculptures exploring paradise, tourism and excess.

Henzel Studio translates the work into a rug. The Swedish studio's artist programme commissions artists and estates to create rugs as works in their own right, authored by the artist, hand-made in limited editions and meant for the floor as much as the wall.
