Pee-wee Herman is the irrepressible man-child in a tight grey suit and red bow tie created and played by Paul Reubens. He starred in Tim Burton's Pee-wee's Big Adventure (1985) and the Saturday-morning series Pee-wee's Playhouse (1986–1990), a gloriously surreal, design-rich world of talking furniture, the Secret Word and Chairry. He remains a cult icon.
