About the artwork: The oil painting of Mouth #7 was created by Wesselmann in 1966 and was part of his ongoing series of canvas-fitted mouth images that he made during this period. Some mouths remained closed, and others — like this piece — are slightly open showing the teeth and the tongue as well as the lips for an alluring and seductive effect.
