Most of what survives from queer life before the internet survives by accident. Magazines were bought at a newsstand and thrown out. Flyers were for one night. Zines ran to two hundred copies and were given away. None of it was archived on purpose, and almost none of it was printed twice. CULTUREEDIT's printed matter auctions put that material back into circulation. Every lot is a single copy. Bidding is open, there is no buy-it-now, and every lot runs to the close — which means the price is whatever two people who want the same thing decide it is, and not what a dealer decided it was.
