Christian Lacroix is a French fashion designer, born in Arles in 1951, who founded his own haute couture house in Paris in 1987. Celebrated for exuberant colour, rich pattern and theatrical flair, including the famous pouf skirt, he has also designed costumes for opera and theatre, and his signature prints live on in homeware and stationery.
