National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) is the holiday comedy in which Chevy Chase's Clark Griswold attempts the perfect family Christmas, with disastrous results. Written by John Hughes, it is packed with quotable moments, from the overloaded house lights to Cousin Eddie's unexpected arrival, and has become one of the most-watched festive films of all time.
