RUDI GERNREICH THE KNOT BOTTOM BLACK

Rudi Gernreich (1922–1985) was a Vienna-born, Los Angeles-based designer who challenged fashion's conventions around the body and gender, introducing the monokini in 1964, pioneering the thong and presenting a unisex collection in 1970. He was also an early gay rights activist and a co-founder of the Mattachine Society. The relaunched label reinterprets his designs, including the Knot Bottom, a riff on an original 1970s style made in Italy.
