Richard Tipping is an Australian artist and poet, born in Adelaide in 1949, who works with words as visual material. His practice spans concrete poetry, text sculpture, subverted road signs and large public artworks, often with sly humour. His work is held in collections including the National Gallery of Australia, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the British Museum and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
