CULTUREEDIT ART AUCTION #6
Gesumino Rulli
Gesumino Rulli (he/him) is a Los Angeles–based artist and storyteller whose embroidery practice reimagines queer iconography, pop culture, and identity through the patient ritual of the needle. Working under the banner Sew Kinky Threads, Rulli uses an age-old domestic medium to explore themes of desire, queer body aesthetics, masculinity, and exhibitionism, often translating fleeting, digitally consumed imagery into timeless, tangible portraits. Their work fuses humor, sexuality, and queer cultural commentary to transform thread and fabric into irreverent, titillating art, scandalizing a medium traditionally associated with grannies.
