CULTUREEDIT ART AUCTION #6
Nelson Balbela
Nelson Balbela, Chicken Fillet #1, 2024/25
Details
Made with colored inks and acrylic washes
The series presents nude male figures in tense, intimate poses, their heads transformed into mask-like avian/beak forms. Confident contour line, cross-hatching, and translucent color fields create a moody atmosphere that frames the work’s erotic and queer charge—shifting between vulnerability, power, and anonymity.
