This heavyweight 100% cotton brushed fleece features the 3-dimensional work of Calder's Romulus and Remus. This piece dyed style has our signature "wrap around" body and a 2x2 rib, with a custom rubberized “Calder” signature label on bottom rib.

In the 1920s Calder developed a new method of sculpting: by bending and twisting wire, he essentially “drew” three-dimensional figures in space. In these unprecedented massless sculptures, Calder carved expressive lines out of voids. Romulus and Remus is one of three large-scale wire works from 1928 incorporating mythological themes—the other two are Hercules and Lion and Spring. After the sculpture’s debut in New York, Calder caused a stir by walking down Fifth Avenue with the nearly eleven-foot-long she-wolf under his arm. When asked if he considered it a work of art, he was quoted as saying, “I shouldn’t have made her if I didn’t.”
