Austin of Texas, the artistic alias of Daniel Austin Lopez, born in 1991 in San Angelo, TX, is a New York-based artist known for his exploration of sexuality and masculinity in his studio practice. Lopez earned his Master of Fine Arts in sculpture from the New York Academy of Art in 2016. In 2018, he ventured into the realm of digital art, creating sculptures through 3D printing technology. Since 2020, Lopez has expanded his practice to include iPad drawings and prints derived from his drawings. The male nude serves as the primary focus of his sculptures and drawings. Lopez's artwork is included in the permanent collection of the Houghton Library at Harvard University, the TOM House in Los Angeles and the private collection of the internationally acclaimed DJ Honey Dijon.
