Ever been in a bathroom and seen the writing on the wall? I think this is one of our collective truest expressions of thought. The writing in this piece is a collection of thoughts I and my friends have had, written to our oppressors on a metaphysical bathroom stall wall but out in the open: a collective battle cry of the voiceless. Is it time to leave America, or do we have too much to say? Can the collective overcome the oppression of the very few; how do we unite our voices and see past the separate boxes that divide us all?

I wish we lived in a world where artists were free to just create beautiful things and no shade on anyone who does but even the ability to just create something beautiful in this political climate is such a privileged position and as a non-binary bisexual who often passes as a cis male, I feel a innate responsibility to make political work from the perspectives that I have been granted from being in jail, being homeless and working in the service industry for a large portion of my life, I have seen a lot of ugly in my life and I have seen a lot of beauty ad well. I think we can do better as a human race, those in power make it unnecessarily difficult to live life and I don't think we need to stand for it. I am not willing to stand for it and my work is the perspective of the voice of the people, in the sense that the personal is political, If I feel this way then it is likely that others do as well. The hope is that if others see my work and feel the same way that maybe it will give them the courage to speak up as will. this is asking a lot of the work, I know but... if we strive for utopia and miss, maybe we will land somewhere closer than where we are right now.
