CULTUREEDIT ART AUCTION #8
danny warhole
Danny Warhole was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1982, and grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, MI. After attending college in Michigan, Danny moved to Washington, DC, for a short period, before moving to Chicago, IL. During the first decade after Danny moved to Chicago, Danny attained a law degree and practiced law, but he produced very little artwork other than a small series of figure drawings with Sharpie markers, using straight lines to create the contours of nude figures. In 2019, Danny began drawing digitally in an attempt to recreate and sharpen the figure drawings he had created years earlier. Since that time, Danny has created over 200 figure drawings. In 2021, Danny moved to San Diego, CA, where he continues to produce art and engage the local art scene. Today, Danny works in various mediums, including oil painting, acrylic pointillism painting, digital figure drawing and photography. Danny’s work is part auto-biography, part travel log, part drag, part love letter to his husband, and part tribute to the history and evolution of gay culture.
