Jeffrey Sousa

Jeffrey C. Sousa is a New York–based visual artist whose work explores movement, bold color, and geometric form. His abstract paintings draw inspiration from his background as a professional performer and from the artistic legacy of his grandfather, who studied under Alexander Calder. Sousa’s work has been featured at the Decoration & Design Building’s Spring Market Open House 2022 in a solo exhibition as Artist-in-Residence with Farrow & Ball Paint. Before devoting himself primarily to painting, Sousa built a career on Broadway, appearing in five productions including Disney’s Aladdin. Trained in modern dance at Earl Mosley’s Institute of the Arts, he continues to merge his passions for performance and design through JCS Designs, where he creates commissioned works that reflect his evolving artistic voice.
