Multi-paneled drawings ambiguously referencing either shrines or departmental bulletin boards; appropriating materials from drafting offices, corporate supply cabinets and juvenile tools of vandalism.

A daily drawing practice, bordering on ritualistic, has been a natural part of Thomas Cawson’s life since early childhood. Fulfilling an obsessive need to make marks on paper, an ad hoc misappropriation of materials lifted from stationary supplies, his Father’s drafting tools and the fine-art materials of his artist Mother and Grandfather, became the basis of a visual language which continues today.
