Moonlight evokes a memory from my adolescence — a friend skinny-dipping beneath the night sky and the unexpected awakening of my sexuality. Through fragmented words, softened colors, and instinctive marks, the work recalls the confusion and wonder of discovering desire before having the language to understand it.

Sean Hemeon is an actor, writer, and abstract expressionist painter whose work explores memory, spirituality, and transformation through raw mark-making and layered color. His paintings often emerge from lived experience — queerness, addiction and recovery, and the long shadow of a repressive religious upbringing — translating those histories into charged visual language. In 2025, his work was featured in a group exhibition in Berlin, where his series on eruption and release resonated with international audiences. Hemeon’s practice continues to blur the line between the deeply personal and the universal, creating work that feels at once intimate, volatile, and searching. He lives and works in Los Angeles.
