CULTUREEDIT ART AUCTION #1
kyle (bradfield)
Kyle Bradfield (1961-2004), better known by his mononym, Kyle, was an American artist who lived in Florence, Italy, after attending Parsons in NYC. He is known mostly for his window installations at Luisa Via Roma from 1985-2003, which are still celebrated today. Eleven years after his death Italian Vogue described him as a “creative genius” and “a true visionary.” In December 2020, Rizzoli published a book on Luisa Via Roma, The Future of Fashion. With the store’s one hundred years of history, Kyle’s brief time there takes up more than half the book. Kyle always felt his commercial work with Luisa overshadowed his own work, which included painting, sculpture, mixed media, installation, and photography. Sebastian + Melmoth will publish his photographic work titled FORTE COME LA MORTE in 2026.
