Lisle Taaje
Lisle Taaje (Lyle Toya). Now retired, Lisle was a former model agent in San Francisco, California. He was always in love with photography and especially the authenticity of Polaroids. Lisle started taking Polaroids of tricks, some anonymous and with no shame, in the 1990s. Over the years Lisle accumulated so many Polaroids he decided to publish a book called Tricks (sold out). He has shown his work in several solo exhibitions in San Francisco, including Peep Show and Tricks 2. His work has sold out whenever it’s been shown and is now held by private collectors around the world. His newer work Dating (1999-2009) became a montage of hundreds of small polaroids, all one of a kind. Some of his last pieces are available in this auction. Tricks 1-6 are all professionally framed and matted by Under Glass in San Francisco, California. Lisle’s Polaroids are not on any social media and are unique pieces.
